Bullingerhof, Zurich

The Bullingerhof housing colony with a central green area was built in 1930 by the architects Karl Künding and Heinrich Oetiker. Due to the housing shortage prevailing at the time, the city of Zurich became involved in municipal and cooperative housing construction and built a total of 223 flats with the Bullingerhof.

A complete renovation of the Bullingerhof began in 2020. Since all the buildings of the Bullingerhof are on the inventory of art and cultural-historical protection projects of the city of Zurich, the plaster had to be reconstructed as faithfully as possible to the original. To meet the requirements, a special formula was developed for the finishing plaster of the façade, which resembles the original in appearance and grain. The recipe was developed on the basis of the plasters akurit ZVP Zementvorspritz and tubag TKP Trass-Kalk-Putz fine + coarse by Sievert AG. With the subsequent painting work, the façade of the garden and cultural-historical Bullingerhof shines in new splendour.
