Sievert Foundation

Sievert Foundation for Science and Culture

The Foundation's tasks are to promote research and teaching, education, art and culture as well as international understanding. The Foundation realises its projects in particular in connection with the University of Osnabrück and the Osnabrück University of Applied Sciences. Artistic and cultural events are primarily supported in the Osnabrück region and should have an international connection.

The founder: Hans-Wolf Sievert

For decades, Hans-Wolf Sievert has been involved in various institutions, such as universities, clubs and associations, in addition to his business commitments. His motivation to give away almost 25% of his shares in Sievert SE to a foundation is the result of the experience and knowledge he has gained from this. These include his activities as a member of the University Council of the University of Osnabrück and as an honorary, visiting and honorary professor at various universities in Germany, Poland and China. His university activities have made it clear to him what great development potential the next generation of students has.

It is therefore important to him to address and promote the talents of young people of future generations with the help of the foundation. Hans-Wolf Sievert also sees the promotion of art and cultural projects in the Osnabrück area as a special task in order to contribute to the preservation and cultivation of cultural values and diversity in society.

As a long-standing member of the Senate and Board of the Foundation of Lower Saxony - the cultural foundation of the state of Lower Saxony - he has come to know and appreciate the importance of cultural promotion and would like to continue it in this way. Hans-Wolf Sievert would like to give back to society something of what he has received from it, and in doing so support his home town of Osnabrück and the Osnabrück region in particular.
