Shaping. History. Actively. Celebrating 100 years of tubag with you. Upholding tradition while creating the modern world – that always was and still is our motivation. Our partners and customers have played a great part in establishing the brand successfully in both restoration and refurbishment as well as horticulture, landscaping and road building. Travepromenade

Thanks to a bonded tubag system, both tourists and locals can again stroll along the promenade at Lübeck-Travemünde.

Schleswig Cathedral

The 112 m high west tower of Schleswig Cathedral is exposed to harsh climatic conditions. Therefore, the client opted for pointing mortars from tubag with good flank adhesion

Landeck Castle

Three different tubag pointing mortars were used during the refurbishment of the castle ruins at Landeck. Masonry from different building phases plus really exposed areas called for special treatment.

Schönweide

Estate Brick flooring for dressage horses: Schönweide Estate between Kiel and Lübeck has been lovingly refurbished and restored exclusively with tubag products.

Provost Church of the Holy Trinity, Leipzig

The façade to this church in Leipzig is made from Rochlitzer Porphyry stone, which is highly absorbent. This fact and the details on the façade placed special demands on the tubag mortars.

Founding of what is now tubag in the form of Tuffstein- und Basaltlavawerke AG, Andernach, with the initial aim of producing and marketing natural stone.

Fusion with Trass-Industrie GmbH, Kruft, to form Tuffstein- und Basaltlavawerke AG.

Building of a new trass cement works in Kruft in just 30 weeks.

Name changed to Tubag Trass-, Zement- und Steinwerke AG.

First activities in the repair and restoration of historic buildingsäude.

Cement clinker production discontinued in Kruft.

Start of lightweight mortar production in Kruft.

Start of production for mortars supplied loose and in bags.

Expansion and restructuring of sales organisation and market canvassing between 1991 and 1998.

Establishment of own sales organisation in former East Germany based in Leipzig.

Prof. Christoph Duppel, what are the challenges you face in the upkeep of historical structures?

Part of an interview in Maulbrunn Monastery on the subject of “Proper conservation of the fabric of our building heritage”.

“There is no one mortar that is right for every historical structure. What works great on one project might be totally wrong for the next one.”
